Subscribe nowI need not list all the remarkable things that have gone on around us in 2022, a year nobody will easily forget. Never a dull moment round here either: we’ve lit up Blackpool Illuminations, reinvigorated our LinkedIn & Twitter social media profiles, been on a few pub crawls, we were thrilled to win the ‘Driven by Data’ Techies Award 2022, thrown some axes to celebrate my 40th birthday and been on BBC Radio Wiltshire. We’ve changed our branding from blue to pink, the outward sign of two years’ deep reflection on who we are and the sort of partnerships through which we can add deep and genuine value to our clients’ businesses.
But most importantly, we’ve been doing what we do best. It’s such a privilege to have so many interesting, creative and fun conversations with our clients to understand their needs, challenges and aspirations. We were born to problem-solve, and take real pride in going on to design, develop and deploy well-targeted software that drives our clients’ businesses forward.
2023 will no doubt be jolly interesting too. The economic battering will no doubt continue, but I cannot help but think that just as in 1979 and 1990, it cannot go on forever and the sun will surely come out again. Meanwhile the challenges for business are very real, not least the puzzle of staff retention and recruitment in a time of near-zero unemployment while the cost of living causes salary bills to escalate. No better time, then, to take a really deep look at those processes and operations, to make sure that the resources available are being used wisely. There’s a lot to unwrap there, but we believe of course that a key ingredient of that is reliable, useful, simple, well-targeted business systems that genuinely support productivity and align with the business goals.
Wishing you peace, prosperity and a Happy New Year,
James Ducker,
Founder and Managing Director
