Database publishing makes it easy to create different language variants
The same document often needs to be published in different languages – anything from local government leaflets to financial performance reports.
Our database publishing software makes this time consuming task simple. First it takes different versions of the text in Word documents or similar formats, images in Illustrator (or similar), and data from spreadsheets. Then it combines them with an InDesign layout and some rules on language usage, and at the press of a button automatically produces print-ready documents in all the different languages.
You can set rules for country-specific formatting, including for punctuation, numbers and units, and even adjust the layout for different languages – for example, an Arabic layout can be switched so it is adapted for reading from right to left.
Beyond the basic text, the diagrams, bar charts and tables are all reconfigured to read correctly in each different language, including following language-specific rules for how the same figures are presented. You can also set rules to ensure information is presented appropriately in different jurisdictions.
